Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Northland Councils of the Knights of Columbus are raising money for children to receive free life-changing care at Shriners Hospitals.

Through May 12, the Knights of Columbus will be selling grilled hotdogs, brats and snacks at many Super One stores across the Northland from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Gerald Nowak, 89, has been donating his time to the Knights of Columbus for the past 30 years.

He says the Grilling for Kids fundraiser is very rewarding.

"We don't know the kids, but a lot of them from around this area do go down there,” Nowak said. “We don't know the kids personally, but we do know we are helping them."

Local Knights of Columbus chapters have raised more nearly $300,000 dollars over the past 14 years.
