LeBlanc Loses Out on ESPY's Best Male Athlete

Los Angeles, CA (NNCNOW.com) --- Hermantown native and 2013 Hobey Baker Award winner Drew LeBlanc lost out on the ESPY's Best Male College Athlete Award to Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel on Wednesday night.

Manziel, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, became the first freshman to win it and just the fifth player ever to have 3,000 passing yards and 1,00 rushing yards in a single seaosn.

Leblanc, who finished his collegiate career at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) this spring, finished last season with 13 goals and 37 assists to help lead the Huskies to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) regular season title and the NCAA Frozen Four.

LeBlanc waas also nominated for Sports Illustrated's male college athlete of the year award but lost out on it to Cornell's Kyle Drake.
