(NNCNOW.com) --- In English the Ojibwa phrase Gimaajii Mino Bimaadizimin translates as “together we are beginning a good life.”

The Gimaajii supportive housing complex in Downtown Duluth serves homeless American Indian families who are in some cases fleeing violence, poverty or homelessness.

In addition to permanent affordable housing there are family case workers available to help residents access resources to begin their good lives.

Operated by the American Indian Community Housing Organization Gimaajii is changing lives one woman and her family at a time.
