Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The fourth annual "More Cowbell" competition and fundraiser was rocking at Grandma's Sports Garden tonight.
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Northern Lights Foundation.
The foundation was founded seven years ago to help families with children suffering from life threatening illnesses.
The idea for the fundraiser came from the popular Saturday Night Live skit, "More cowbell" featuring Will Ferrell and Christopher Walkin.
Celebrities from the Northland community competed for votes for the best cowbell skit.
"We typically give out a monetary grant to the family they can use at their discretion, whether if its for travel or expenses or whatever they need whether in town if their kids are in the hospital," said Founder Ken Larson.
They also had a silent action and all you can eat buffet featuring Grandma's Saloon, Bellisios, and Little Angies.
