Duluth won't see tall ships this summer but the festival will be bigger than ever next year.
Visit Duluth Officials say at least ten ships will be sailing into Duluth for the July festival and they're in talks with 25 other tall ship owners.
They plan to narrow down the list closer to festival time.
Consumer demand created an expansion of the festival for 2013 and visit Duluth officials say it's common sense to add more tall ships
"The port is always active and it's always an attraction and bringing that history and learning element is something very special for families"
The event is also special for Duluth's economy
More than 200,000 people attended in 2010 and officials are expecting to exceed that number in the summer of 2013.
