Hibbing, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Chisholm woman is in critical condition following a weather-related three-car accident north of Hibbing Friday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue lost control on an icy covered Highway 169 and slid sideways into a pickup truck.

Authorities say the truck was stopped on the shoulder helping another motorist after they had slid into a guardrail.

The passenger in the Oldsmobile, 53-year-old Patricia Jurek, was taken to a Duluth hospital. The car was totaled.

The others involved all suffered none life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol said there were 180 crashes statewide from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday. 23 of those involved injuries.

"Even with small snows like this, the roads get very slick and they are glazed," said Capt. Steve Stromback with the MN State Patrol. We had a number of vehicles off the road, a few rollovers, thank goodness we didn't have any serious injury crashes, but that's just a matter of timing and seconds and differences."
