Duluth MN (NNCNOW.com) - For this Northland singer song writer, music has been her way of dealing with life's unexpected tragedies.

After dealing with the deaths of her father and her brother, music kept her going.

"Music has been a release for me and it's allowed to live more fully in other areas of my life, I'm a better mom, I'm a better student and I'm a better worker, because of the healing that has happened because of music," said Breanne Marie.

Breanne first started playing guitar in 2007 performing cover bands. She now has her own album due to release on Saturday, Jan. 5, which has been a lot of work.

"First we had to do a "kickstarter" campaign, and that was to raise the funding to get it going, I had to put a band together, I had to figure out how to record, I had to finish writing which was a short amount of time and then everything has just come together," said the song writer.

"Kickstarter" is a crowd sourcing website where you cab pitch a project idea and people can choose to invest in it. All of this could not have been done with out the help of her friends and family, and her fiancé, Evan Tepler.

"Her attitude towards it is that if it can help her it can help others. So she started...playing guitar to cope with some losses and then eventually started writing her own music," said Tepler.

Breanne has her hands full with not only song writing, but from working full time and being a mom among other things.

"I just got engaged, my fiancé and I just bought a house, we are getting married in September, and I just started grad school and going to get my masters in management from St. Scholastica. I'm a busy woman," she said.

A relase concert for her album "Six Strings of Peace and Sanity" on Saturday Jan. 5 at Beaner's Coffee House in West Duluth.
