--The payroll tax extension passed by the House of Representatives will likely not pass the Senate...in fact it may not see a vote at all.
According to a study released by US Senator Al Franken, that may cost St. Louis County taxpayers thousands of dollars.
The measure, which narrowly passed the House of Representatives, on a party line vote, is now tied to a spending bill.
Senator Franken says the Democratically controlled Senate will vote down the house version of the bill.
