Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The drive along portions of Highland Street and 57th Avenue West in Duluth will improve significantly next year.
St. Louis County held a public meeting to inform the public about the re-construction project brought about by the floods.
The project includes improvements to the intersection where Highland, Vinland, Getchell, and Skyline Parkway meet.
A new bridge will be constructed over Keene Creek and water and sewer mains will be replaced.
Detours will be set up during construction.
"The road will be closed in 2014 for the duration of the project, there will be a detour on Haines road which will be completed, it will be a really nice road for the detour. Residents will always have access to their houses but through traffic will not be allowed through the duration of the project," said Steve Krasaway, Resident Engineer for St. Louis County.
Work will begin April of 2014 with a price tag of about $9 million.
