Scrambling Shoppers Pack Area Grocery Stores

-- Northlanders are bracing for a snow day in the morning.

Close to a foot is expected to coat most parts of the Northland by lunchtime tomorrow.

That's leaving people no choice but to scramble to stock up on the essentials at area supermarkets.

Minnesota Deparment of Transportaton crews have hit the roads tonight in preparation for what will surely be a tricky commute in the morning.

That is leaving Northlanders no choice but to stay ahead of the storm. packing the grocery stores grabbing these with the essentials.

It's zero hour at Duluth's Super one.

"Business has just been booming today"

The day before the storm.

"Expect the unexpected, you next know what you're going to see on a day like today"

The first significant snowfall for the Northland has people stocking up.

"Stuff that you use every day in case we are snowed in for a couple of days"

"Snacks it looks like they are going to the movies or something"

A storm that has some Northlanders anxious for a dose of real winter.

"It starts and then it just melts with the warm weather...when it snows it's warm and when there's no snow it's cold and windy on the cheeks"

A storm that is also bringing some neighborhoods closer together.

"We get together with them and have a meal and plan and chip in with different fruits and vegetables"

So hold on tight Northland and bundle up.

The city of Duluth is recommending no travel due to the snow.
In fact officials say if conditions warrant, they may have to close off the Aerial Lift Bridge and access to Park Point.
