Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - Several of Superior's finest received recognition Friday during a special ceremony.

The annual awards program honored officers and investigators for their exceptional work ranging from solving cases to physical fitness tests.

Three officers received the Medal of Valor award, the department's second highest honor, for their work in an officer involved shooting last year.

Officer Brian Davis received two awards Friday, one of them for a routine foot patrol that ended in arrests.

"Doing some self–initiated field activity out on the streets. We had a lot of car break–ins. So we were keeping eye on the neighborhoods. As we were working we were able to catch a drug deal," Brian Davis, Superior Police Dept., said.

"I think they're motivated to do the right thing and perform their mission for their community regardless of this ceremony but it's always good to recognize success," Chief Charles LaGesse, Superior Police Dept., said.

The superior Police Department has nearly 60 officers.
