Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - Two separate complaints were filed in April, including one from Superior Police Chief Charles LaGesse and his wife.

The second complaint was filed by five other couples along the 15th Avenue East and East 10th Street Area.

The lawsuits claim that each of the plaintiffs suffered more than $10,000 in damage to their homes during June's flood.

The lawsuits say the homes' basements were filled with wastewater only after the city removed a sanitary sewer cover.

In a previous official response to the complaints, City Attorney Frog Prell denied city responsibility saying the damages were a result of the plaintiffs' private plumbing.

Neither attorneys representing the plaintiffs could be reached by news time today.
