Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A part of history belonging to KDLH is now set in stone at a new location in Duluth.

After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, employees at the former KDLH building on Superior St. had a large rock inscribed with the words "As Peace grows, so does the future of our Children. In remembrance of 9/11/01."

That rock was at the site of the building up until a few months ago when Maurice's began demolition to make way for its new headquarters.

Maurice's officials say they received phone calls from former KDLH employees about what was going to happen to the stone.

"What can we do to partner? Because this is a big part of people's lives and when they donated, it was obviously very sentimental to that group of employees. So Channel 3 embraced it and they said you know what we're gonna create a new memorial garden outside of our building and put the stone inside that garden," Director of Communications for Maurices, Laura Sieger, said.

"The 9/11 stone will be a centerpiece to our new public space, the entry garden to the Canal Park studios. People will be able to come by and continue to see the inscription on the stone and the memorial can continue to be a part of the tourist experience here in Canal Park," Vice President/Station Manager of KBJR 6 and KDLH 3, David Jensch, said.

The stone was delivered to our Canal Park Studios Thursday afternoon.
