DULUTH, MN (Northland's Newscenter)--The Lakewalk Clinic and pharmacy off London road is now part of the Essentia Health System.

More than 80 employees spent part of Friday in orientation and training seminars.

Others at the clinic spent the day getting information systems running and phone and electronic systems converted.

The clinic now shares electronic health records with essential health which administrators say will allow a seamless transfer of diagnostic scans and medical information.

"It will be easily accessed by any of our physician team or if a person needs additional care outside of the primary care location, the physician that they are seeing or that provider that they see will have access to that information," said Diane Holliday-Welsh the Clinic Administrator. "Some of fragmentation that can happen without a common record, will be minimized."

The Proctor Clinic, Silverbay and Two harbors pharmacy also became part of essentia health systems today.
