DULUTH, MN (Northland's Newscenter)---Fans attending the Bulldog's first hockey game at the Amsoil Arena last night got an unexpected surprise.

Glass was shattered on them during the first period of the game.
This video, courtesy–MY–9, Mike Connolly, U–M–D forward, attempted to check a player from North Dakota on the offensive side.

Connolly crashed into the boards, shattering the whole section of glass.

"The guy stopped up and I won't the battle with the glass, Connolly said. "I'm just glad no one got seriously hurt, but its definitely something I'll remember. It's definitely something you only see on highlights."

"I got hurt on my nose, my hand and my dad got hurt on his finger," said Ben Browall, a young fan at the game.

The referee gave Ben a hockey puck and a U-M-D hockey hoodie after the accident.
