VIRGINIA, MN (Northland's NewsCenter)---The Virginia City Council will review and re-organize several committees at its meeting Tuesday in an effort to help stimulate positive economic growth in 2012.

The mayor and city councilors will be sworn in.
Nominations will be taken for a new acting mayor, who would take over the city in the event the current mayor falls ill or can't perform his mayoral duties.

The membership of several city committees, ranging from infrastructure to finance, will be reviewed and membership may be changed.

"We have a lot of development in the city," Mayor Peterson said. "A lot of things happened in 2011, positive things for the community. So I think we are well poised going into 2012."

Licensing for five small businesses are also expected to be granted at the meeting.
