The waterspout/tornado that made a weak touchdown Duluth and Superior last Thursday may have not been the city's first. According to the National Weather Service, the Storm Prediction Center indicates a tornado that was reported on Greene Street in West Duluth on May 26, 1958.
According to a Duluth News Tribune article from 1958 the tornado did some damage to a garage. There is also a report of a tornado in 1935, but the SPC does not have a report of this event.
