Community Cancellations

Due to blizzard like conditions across the Northland, community events have been cancelled including:

- The public buses traveling to the State Capitol for Duluth and St. Louis Days.

- The Cloquet Planning Commission public hearing over a proposed Walgreens store at the Southgate Bowl site. The hearing was supposed to take place Tuesday night but has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13.

- CCD classes have been cancelled for The Holy Assumption Church in Superior for Tuesday and Wednesday night.

- The Bank Robbery Prevention training that Hermantown Police was planning to provide for local lending institutions Wednesday (2-29) has been postponed due to the impending Winter Storm Advisory. Community Resource Officer Lisa Perich will be contacting each banking institution in the coming week with a new date for the presentation.

-The Lutheran Church of Christ the King - All services and activities cancelled.

-East Central School- closed today

-All A.E.O.A. Senior Dining Sites are closed Wednesday, February 29. These sites include, Morgan Park, Evergreen, Lincoln Park Center,Rainbow Center, Duluth Heights and Portman.

-A.E.O.A. Meals On Wheels Program in Duluth & Hermantown are cancelled today.

-Think N' Play Learning Center is closed today.

-GoodWill stores are closed today as well their admistrative offices.

-Spirit Mountain Recreation Area is closed today due to high the high winds.

-Superior Savings Bank will be closed until noon today due to the weather.

-Second Harvest Gordon Food Distribution Center Closed

-Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cloquet has cancelled its evening
service

-The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District’s Materials Recovery Center, at the corner of Rice Lake and Ridgeview Roads, will be today due to the weather. It will reopen Thursday, March 1, Weather permitting.

-The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, All services and activities cancelled.

-The CHUM Food Shelf in Downtown Duluth will be closed today.

-UDAC is closed today due to the weather.

-Chester Ski Hill is closed today.

-The Mariner Mall will be closed today due to the storm.

- Temple Israel, All activities are cancelled

- Meals on Wheels in Two Harbors is cancelled

-Our Savior's Lutherian church in Cloquet will be open but events for the day have been cancelled.

-Zion Lutherian Church is closed due to weather. Evening worship and classes have been canceled.

-The Center for Validation and change in Duluth is closed.

-The noon NICU luncheon at Essentia Health today is cancelled.

-The Human Development center's Cloquet, Duluth and Superior campuses are closed but the Two Harbors and Grand Marais campuses are open today.

-The Sylvan Learning center will be closed today.

- Lenten service at the Lutheran Church of Holy Trinity on 27th Ave. W and 3rd St. at 6:30pm has been canceled.

- UMD Women's Basketball tonight vs. Minnesota State has been cancelled. Will be played on Thursday at 3:00pm.

-Yoga North Classes Cancelled.

-Boys and Girls Club of Duluth and Superior are closed.

-St. Marys Star of the Sea stations of the cross cancelled.

-Miller Hill Mall will close at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday)

-St. Francis Church in Carlton will have no soup supper or stations of the cross today.

-the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) administrative office in Eveleth and the Mineland Reclamation office in Chisholm are now closed for the day. However, Giants Ridge in Biwabik will remain open to the public.

- Hope Lutheran Church in Moose Lake, no youth programing or worship services.

- New Life Lutheran Church, no lenten services

- Holy Cross Lutheran Church, no lenten services or potluck

- Holy Family Catholic Church in Duluth has canceled soup, supper and religious education classes.

-City of Silver Bay has shut down. The City Hall, arena and public library are all closed.

- Ruby Pantry in Brookston cancelled tomorrow morning. Will be held Thursday, March 8th

-Northwest Outlet in Superior will close at 3pm

-7A boy's hockey championship has been postponed until 2pm on Saturday

-7AAA girl's basketball quarterfinal games have been postponed until Thursday. 7A girl's basketball quarterfinals set for Thursday in Hermantown have been moved to Proctor.
