Some areas across the Northland woke up to cold temperatures this morning. In Embarrass, the morning low temperature was 36 degrees. In Hibbing, it got down to 39 which is only one degree warmer than the record set in 1968 of 38 degrees.
If your in Big Fork, Silver Bay or near Crane Lake you also started your day in the upper 30s. Thanks to the clear skies and calm winds allowing temperatures to settle down to those numbers.
If you want to compare temperatures, most areas in North America and Canada were warmer this morning.
In Barrow, Alaska it got down to 42 degrees. In the Northwestern Territories and in British Columbia a few areas made it to the upper 30s, but the majority of this cold air was right across the Northland.
Our temperatures this afternoon should be in the mid-70s.
