Severe Thunderstorms Across the Northland

May 1, 2012 Updated May 2, 2012 at 9:42 AM CST

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- There is a strong possibility for severe thunderstorms in the Northland that could have the potential to produce a tornado.

Our weathermen here at the Northland's NewsCenter say that most of the severe weather should stay to our west towards Brainerd Lakes and most of North Central Minnesota.

However, the Twin Ports and surrounding areas could still see strong winds, hail and a chance of an isolated tornado.

These thunderstorms are projected to hit the Northland late Tuesday afternoon and into Tuesday night.

Be aware of weather conditions tonight, and if you hear the sirens take shelter IMMEDIATELY.

We will keep you updated with the latest weather conditions in your area as these thunderstorms move into Northern Minnesota.
