Snow Emergency for Superior

Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) -- A snow emergency has been declared for the City of Superior.

Superior Police will also establish its snow emergency routes at midnight on February 29, 2012.

The snow emergency routes are used to detour traffic off of U.S. 2 and 53. According to Superior Police, this area often has low visability and hazardous driving conditions during the heavy snowfalls accompanied by high winds.

During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on Hammond Avenue between N. 5th Street and N. 28th Street and on E. 5th Street between 18th Avenue E. and 31st Avenue East.
