The snow has picked up a little here in Duluth and the new 00z NAM model brings in an additional 3-4" on top of what we already have. The NWS has kept the warnings up until 6am for the Twin Ports as well. Winds will still be strong out of the NE throughout the night. The snow will subside around 4-6am for the Duluth area and will taper off from west to east as the low moves into the U.P..
The snow returns aren't there for the North Shore, I still expect some snow throughout the night there, but not quite as much as the 3-6" predicted. The NWS is talking about dropping the warning in the Arrowhead after midnight.
This snow has been reported as extremely slippery. Please be careful on the roadways, even where we haven't seen much, like the Range. Spin outs have been reported even in Grand Rapids, where only a half inch fell.
Here's the latest synopsis:
The low is currently over Mason City, IA at 1010mb. In the next 4 hours we expect the low to weaken to 1012mb and move over Eau Claire, WI. Currently at Sky Harbor Airport we've got 31mph gusts from the NE.
Snow totals(so far):
Webb Lake: 12.3"
Pine City: 10.2"
Morgan Park: 4"
Grand Rapids: 0.5"
