Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- This latest winter storm is leaving behind an icy, slushy mess across the Midwest with power outages already hitting the Twin Ports this morning and blizzard like conditions in Wisconsin.

The line of snow is inching its way towards the Northland. As of 10:00am the line of snow is sitting just south of the Ports, stretching from Cass county, through Aitkin, Carlton and into Wisconsin near Hayward.

Winds are continuing to blow the snow just south of the Ports. The airmass containing the snow will inevitably win the battle within a few hours.

When the system hits, expect road conditions to deteriorate rapidly with reduced visibility and snow covered roads along the I-35 corridor, HWY 2 and HWY 61.

Snow will continue overnight with 4-8" possible in the Ports and 6-10" for NW Wisconsin and east-central Minnesota.

Stay tuned with KBJR 6 and KDLH 3 for the latest on this winter storm.
