Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Lake Effect Snow has taken hold of the South Shore and Upper Peninsula.
We’ve already seen 4-6” of snow in parts of Iron County Wisconsin and we expect more throughout the night.
Northern winds will be strong with sustained winds at 10-25mph and gusts near 35mph. This northern wind is bringing in the moisture from the lake and creating the snow and blowing snow hazards.
The National Weather Service has a Winter Storm Warning in effect until 10am Friday for Ashland, Iron and Gogebic counties. Expect anywhere from 8-10” of snow and higher amounts in the high terrain.
Stay tuned to the Northland’s Newscenter for more information.
