Backpacks for students at Nettleton

School supplies donated to Nettleton

Qwest Communications, Qwest Pioneers, and CWA Local 7214 collected school supplies to help out the Grant/Nettleton students. 120 backpacks were filled with supplies to be given to 20 students in each grade, K - 5. The Qwest employees were very generous sending several boxes of extra supplies to be used by the teachers as needed throughout the school year. The employees also signed personal notes to be added to each backpack for the students to enjoy. The school supplies will be delivered to Nettleton Tuesday morning August 31, at 11:00.
Last year 81% of the children attending Nettleton qualified for free or reduced lunches and 79% of the children attending Grant qualified. With the combination of the two schools their need is even greater.
