Strawberry blossoms on Oct. 16?

I live in Duluth but have a cabin off Hwy 44 near Brimson. I often go walking with my camera. I was surprised to see strawberry blossoms in October.

last week my lilac bushes and leaf buds on them and in a few spots, actually leafed out!

Maybe this is a sign of a mild winter?...we can only hope so :)
