Minnesota Pheasant Hunting

A DAILY LIMIT OF PHESANTS!

This was the first time I took my brother's dog out all by herself. Usually I am with other hunters or dogs. I wanted to go out and watch her work with no other dogs around. We were only in the field for 10 minutes when she became "birdie." Shw chased the rooster towards some cattails where it flushed. It folded after the second shot. Abby made a nice retrieve and then was right back to work. A few minutes later another rooster flushed, one shot and it was down. Abby chased that one for a few minutes and came back with nothing in her mouth. A little dissapointed, I walked to where she had quit chasing the wounded bird. I looked down and at my feet was the rooster! What a great hunt and a memory made of her first "solo" hunt.
