In the afternoon on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 Jay was walking with a family member to check on a member of the hunting party sitting in a tree stand. While on the trail Jay spotted a pair of large deer off on his right laying down. He raised his riffle and took aim on the buck. The deer having seen them on the trail had stood up and at that point Jay shot the buck. It died immediatly and the doe was left to run off into the woods.
