Kids can fly with local pilots for free on Saturday, Aug. 20th in Grand Rapids

Free airplane rides for kids

In mid-June, the local Young Eagles Flight Rally organizers had to postpone the event due to unfavorable weather and flying conditions. Now, local pilots have committed to another date this summer so that any youngsters ages 8-17 can see what the Grand Rapids area looks like from the skies. On Saturday, August 20th, local pilots from the non-profit Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 412 will host its annual Young Eagles Flight Rally at the Grand Rapids airport. The event is free. Show up at the EAA hangar at the Grand Rapids airport between 8 a.m. and noon to register.
