I looked up at the moon tonight, (11/8/2011) and noticed a "halo" circling the moon. it was rather ominous,it was quite large, and inside the circle was a single star that seemed to moving around the sky as my eyes tried to focus on the moon, it's halo, and the lonely star just below it's position.
My question, after I did some research and found it was light refracting off of ice crystals in the atmosphere, can you predict the future weather based on this alone, and if so, to what degree or certainty?
It was said that counting the stars inside the ring would signify something, I saw only one star that looked to be moving around the sky. (a spaceship)
I went inside to get the camera, and in the couple of minutes it took, i came back out side and the circle had vanished. sad!
are lunar wrings used 2 predict weather?
