The Northland has some of the most beautiful but hidden blossoms and buds during spring. The first is the red bud coverings of evergreen trees. The second is the ever beautiful but delicate Trillium. Gazillions of them some places. The third: Fifty plus years ago cowslips proliferated around the Northland. Now only a few patches scattered around remain and they last about only a week. Some can be seen in the ditches of the Stebnner and Getchel roads. Also along the East Frontage Road of I-35 between Boundary and Midway Roads.
