On a sunny, June fifth day, while walking in the woods on my home in Saginaw, I found this beautiful rare wildflower. The Lady's Slipper is Minnesota's state flower, and lives for fifteen years before it is able to bloom. A single Lady's Slipper plant can live for up to fifty years. Given its rarity, the plant is protected and it is illegal to pick them. I captured this once in a life time find on camera, so that myself and others can enjoy the sight of such a unique and rare plant.
