Annual porch painting...well I finally am able to get back to painting on our porch. I notice that Halloween was my last painting. This is the 4th year I have been painting on my windows & on the average I try to get one up each month. With illnesses going on around me & with biweekly chemo treatments I just had no extra energy to do most anything I've done. But now those around me are getting back to health & I am finding I can once again return to something I so enjoy doing. This theme is for the 7 teachings. Something that should be taught to each generation. Now I feel these are not taught in schools, they are the responsibility of their parents and adults in the youths lives. Of course I'm sure there are those that will say I'm wrong. Which is ok because I know I have been wrong before. I had heard of the 7 teaching on the internet. I felt like somehow something was lost. Won't it be wonderful to be able to live by the 7 teachings. People have asked me why I paint on my windows often. My answer is the same. I would like to give my artwork away for a good cause. My Grandma Tina & Lois my Mother have taught us children that when we are grown & not working out of the home, we should do for our community. Because of being on a very limited income, I am unable to pay for ads & I've been told by Ashland daily paper they don't do charity work. So for the last 4 years I paint on my porch windows to give everyone an idea what I could do. I'd love to do murals for childrens nursery in churches or schools. Animal shelters? I even painted a few bathroom doors for a few friends that own bars. Odd how one of the reasons we moved here was they were looking for more artist. If any of you know of somewhere that would like a mural done, let me know by emailing me at: debrakayartistatplay@gmail.com
