Local artist Doris Sampson and i were hiking the Grassy Point Nature Trail near 60th Ave. W. Thursday evening and while driving away from the parking area we spotted this huge turtle crossing the road. We got out and gently guided it back into the inlet next to Hallett Dock thinking it would be vulnerable to traffic or vandalism. It was huge! Approximately 30 inches from head to tail. We're thinking it might be a Northern Diamondback Terrapon, but I don't think they grow to be this big. Do any of the viewers have any idea what species this might be? ENJOY!
