At the start of the year the Rebels were getting used to some different players on each side of the ball. After graduating 12 seniors from last years roster, Coach Louzek had some work to do to fill the empty holes.
By the looks of things he did a great job, the rebels are 12-0 on the year. They won the Great Polar White division title for the 2nd straight year and the Section 7AA title for the 3rd. Although those achivements are great, the rebels aren't satisified. They want a State Title.
When I talked to Sr. Linebacker Nick Kwapick he said," The state title is our goal, but we have to focus each week to get there."
In the State Quarter-Final game aginist Breckenridge the Rebels took one more step to the title. They beat the Cowboys 46-0.
Now MLWR plays the defending state champs from Caledonia on friday at the Metrodome in Minnepolis.
This is not the first time MLWR has faced the defending state champ. They played Eden Valley Watkins in 2006 and defeated them 16-6. Later losing to Luverne at the Metrodome.
This rebels team is focused and determined to go all the way.
MLWR's fantastic season isn't over yet
