If your travel up on the Iron Range you will see many old Iron Ore Mine pits and active pits by many towns. They can be very beautiful and not just holes in the ground. For us up here we enjoy the old iron ore mine pits. We fish in them, swim in them, bike and 4-wheel around them, picnic at them and enjoy there beauty and marvel at the history of those who made them. Note. Some are still private mine land but many are open to public use.
