This yearling bear was probably kicked out recently by his or her mommy bear. It was first spotted from the ferry Easter morning at about 7:45 am. The bear was floating on an ice floe in the middle of the ferry's path. It floated from Madeline Island (we think) to Basswood then to Bayfield. I had been watching it make its way to Bayfield all day! It finally made it safely to land at about 5:30 pm!
