We got Pitney and Brandi from the shelter after our beloved pit bulls died. She was said to be lab/pitbull mix. I saw Pitney on a dog name list, and it stuck. I thought it was both unusual and a tribute to pit bulls. Her nicknames are Pit, Pitty, and Pitiful.
