When I was a small child, my family would get a Sammy’s Pizza every Friday night. Mr. Perrella would always let me sit on the window ledge (at the downtown pizza) and watch the pizzas being made. He would give me half a handful of pepperoni and he’d say, “Someday you too could work here.”
Well, thirty some years [later], I did get a job working for Mr. Perrella’s daughter and son (Jodi and Sam Jr.) in Woodland. I worked for them for 12 years retiring in ’07 and I used to give kids a handful of pepperoni, saying, “Someday you too can work here!”
Now that’s a Sammy’s tradition!
