I grew up in Lakewood Township, and it was a HUGE treat to be able to drive with my dad to Lakeside to get a Sammy's Kosher Salami - Double Cheese pizza in the PAPER wrap, that said "Sammy's Pizza, it's out of this world." I always had the job of holding it on my lap while my dad drove. Before we got home we had always ripped back the paper and ate a few "edge" slices and hoped that mom wouldn't notice.
My dad is now gone, but my mom and I love to carry on the Sammy's tradition with my boys with frozen Sammy's for lunch on Saturdays at the Lake.
