I met my husband 4 years ago who is from Carlton. The first restaurant he took me too was Sammy’s, which is now our favorite place to eat. Over a year ago we quietly got married and planned on going to a different place to eat after the ceremony. When we arrived we were told that it would be a couple hours before they would have a table ready. We just looked at each other and I could tell Jim was thinking the same as me – “let’s go eat at Sammy’s”. We went to Sammy’s in West Duluth and had our wedding meal. It was a sausage, mushroom, and onion pizza, with a mug of beer. Besides having a scrumptious meal our waitress provided great service and took one of our favorite wedding pictures.
