My family has deep roots in Duluth Minnesota. My whole family, as far as I can think back has lived in Duluth. My uncle worked at Sammy's when he was in school, and into his young adulthood. I remember going and watching him flip dough when I was younger. The love of Sammy's was passed onto my brother and I. When I was 5 years old, we made a move to Kansas City Missouri. Now the cravings for Sammy's pizza never quit. We tried to find a pizza down here comparable to Sammy's, and came up empty handed. So every summer we make the 600 mile drive to Duluth and every time our first stop is Sammy's pizza in Cloquet. When pulling in, we are often tired and quite exhausted. All we want to do is get to our lake home and put our feet up, but no matter the level of exhaustion we stop at Sammy's and get our pizzas. We have it on speed dial in our cell phones. We also eat a ton of Sammy's while in Duluth. It seems like every meal is Sammy's. Before we leave to go home, we put in our orders for frozen Sammy's so that we can take some home with us and enjoy it throughout the year when we are craving a good pizza. When family comes to visit us, they know they have to bring Sammy's, or don't bother coming! So even though we have moved 600 miles away, we are still devoted Sammy's fans, and have converted several Missourians into Sammy's lovers as well. It shows that no distance can separate you from the food you love!!!!
600 Miles Away and still Sammy's Lovers
